Formed on the belief in the restorative power of music, for over 20 years the Charlotte Symphony's Healing Hands program has sent orchestra musicians into area hospitals and senior care centers to enrich the lives of patients and residents.
Small ensemble/solo performances
Solo musicians, duos, trios, and other small ensembles often perform at a diverse range of locations. Recent participating centers have included Southminster, Renaissance West, Levine Jewish Community Center, area hospitals, and more.
Chamber orchestra performances
Customized for access to early stage patients, these performances are open to the general population at area senior care centers.
The Charlotte Symphony is dedicated to reaching those in our community who suffer from Alzheimer's and dementia. We have partnered with Queens University and Southminster for an exciting study examining how those who suffer from these illnesses respond to live orchestral music. For more information about the study, click here or contact Chris Stonnell.
