Lightness and just a hint of shadow

The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra has begun its mini-season of local principals, paying homage to its own first-chair musicians. Alan Black will solo in Haydn's Cello Concerto in C in February; Calin Lupanu will play Prokofiev's First Violin Concerto in April; and harpist Andrea Mumm kicked things off Friday with Debussy's Sacred and Profane Dances.
