Charlotte Symphony Orchestra Reimagines Fall 2020 Season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, The Charlotte Symphony is changing previously scheduled live concerts through December 6. The new schedule will include virtual concerts and limited capacity live outdoor performances.

The Charlotte Symphony will present four concerts streamed from the Knight Theater this fall. They will feature a mix of classical favorites and inspiring new works.

During each virtual concert, Resident Conductor Christopher James Lees will share the stories behind the music.

The Charlotte Symphony's popular ON TAP series returns with six concerts in NoDa Brewing Company's beer garden. These intimate orchestra experiences can be enjoyed in-person or streamed live from your own living room.

Each concert will feature a different chamber group comprised of Charlotte Symphony musicians performing works by a diverse range of composers from Haydn and Jacques Ibert, to Amy Beach and Florence Price.

Alan Black, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra principal cellist, performed in the first ON TAP concert at NoDa Brewing Company. Black said he has missed playing for an audience and performing with his fellow orchestra members.

"We get to actually work together as a group, and that's one of the great things about playing so good. And, we've missed each other. We've missed what we do," Black said.
